These paints feature an ultra-fine pigment grind, especially noticeable in core colors like white and black. We know these shades can be tricky for beginners, so our formula delivers excellent coverage — no more struggling with patchy base coats! And when thinned, they allow for smooth, controlled layering in ultra-thin coats.
Thanks to their fast-drying nature, you can keep up your momentum without waiting around.
We’re continuously expanding our color range — find your favorite among our growing palette!

Key Tips for Using Jim Scale Alcohol-Based Paints
- Always work in a well-ventilated area.
- Prime your surface before application.
- Thin at a ratio of 1:1 or more for ultra-smooth coats.
- Paint is 90% dry within 4 hours, with full curing in 24 hours — during this time, you can still wash off, adjust, or create chipping effects.
- A gentle twist is enough to seal the bottle. Even if left slightly open, the paint evaporates very slowly due to its high viscosity.

Airbrush Guidelines
- Spray from a distance of 5–8 cm (2–3 inches).
- Use low to medium trigger pressure — avoid maximum flow.
- Recommended air pressure: 1.5 to 2.0 bar (22–30 psi).
- If you see “spider-webbing,” increase the thinner ratio (e.g., 2:1).
- Ensure your airbrush is perfectly clean to avoid defects like grain, edge webbing, or foreign particles.

Thinners & Cleaners
- Thin with our official thinner (Art. 07. 012/14), alcohol-based enamel thinners, or standard IPA (isopropyl alcohol).
- Our thinner (Art. 07. 012) is specially formulated for airbrush use and has a slower drying time than pure IPA for better control.
- Do not mix with water or water-based thinners (e.g., Tamiya X20).
- Clean airbrushes with IPA or our branded thinner (Art. 07. 012/14).
- The dried surface has a semi-matte finish, suitable for polishing with abrasives or polishing compounds.
